Resolution 12221CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12221 OBJECTING TO CONSIDERATION OF DIVIDING THE CITY OF ALAMEDA FOR THE PURPOSE OF REPRESENTATION ON THE ALAMEDA /CONTRA COSTA TRANSIT DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHEREAS, the AC Transit Board of Directors is reviewing several options for redrawing boundaries of the District's five electoral wards based on information gathered in the 1990 census, and WHEREAS, the Directors are asking for public comment on several redistricting options, and WHEREAS, the Board has scheduled time for oral comments at the regular meeting of March 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the District's board room, 2nd floor, 1600 Franklin Street in downtown Oakland, and 0 WHEREAS, after reviewing all comments, the Directors anticipate making a final decision on new ward boundaries at the regular meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 1992, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda has reviewed the various options under consideration and has determined that it is in the best interest of the City that the entire City of Alameda be incorporated into one ward and not be divided between two or more wards. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda requests that the Board of Directors find that dividing the City of Alameda between two or more separate wards is not in the best interests of the City and that Alameda be retained as it exists, in one ward. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in special meeting assembled on the 24th day of March , 1992, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 4.
