ADOPTING THE CITY OF ALAMEDA SOURCE REDUCTION AND
RECYCLING ELEMENT AND HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Integrated Waste
Management Act of 1989, the City of Alameda has prepared a Source
Reduction and Recycling Element and a Household Hazardous Waste
Element; and,
WHEREAS, these elements were considered in Preliminary Draft
form as a noticed public hearing on September 3, 1991, and were
circulated to the Local Task Force, the California Integrated Waste
Management Board and neighboring jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, notice that a public hearing would be held by the
Alameda City Council to consider adoption of these final draft
elements was provided to the public by publication in the Alameda
Times Star on March 8, 1992; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda Planning Board has found on the
basis of the Initial Study prepared for these elements and comments
received that there is no substantial evidence that they will have
a significant effect on the environment and has certified a
Mitigated Negative Declaration for these elements;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, the City Council of the City
of Alameda hereby adopts the Source Reduction and Recycling Element
and the Household Hazardous Waste Element for the City of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of
April , 1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow- 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
