AMENDING MASTER FEE RESOLUTION NO. 12191
INCREASING BUILDING PERMIT FEES
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has the responsibility and
has made a commitment to provide the public with thorough high
quality building inspections to ensure the safety and quality of
building projects constructed within the City; and
WHEREAS, current Building Permit revenues are not
adequate to fund a high level of service; and
WHEREAS, City costs have continued to rise due to the
added inspection and plan check hours required on projects
necessitated by more stringent Code requirements.
WHEREAS, the Ordinance adopting the 1991 Edition of the
Uniform Building Code, set for final passage on May 19, 1992,
provides that the City Council shall set the permit fees by City
Council Resolution; and

and codifies existing fees for various City services and

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
Permit Fees are a reasonable cost for providing the
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda, that City Council hereby amends that portion of the
Master Fee Resolution pertaining to Building Permit Fees, as
detailed in Exhibit A attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall not
become effective until the effective date of the adoption of the
required implementing ordinance.
