Resolution 12251CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12251 ADOPTING THE ABANDONED VEHICLE PROGRAM FOR ALAMEDA COUNTY WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 4114 by Members Clute and Bently has become law as of January 1, 1992; and WHEREAS, the bill allows for the establishment of a countywide authority to abate abandoned vehicles; and WHEREAS, such vehicles have become a blight upon land, offending aesthetic sensibilities, harboring inimical insects and C7 other health threatening creatures, and allowing valuable resources LL. to go to waste; and WHEREAS, under provisions of AB 4114 the majority of cities representing the majority of the incorporated population in conjunction with two - thirds of the Board of Supervisors may appoint an organization to be the countywide abandoned vehicle abatement authority; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Vehicle Abatement Authority has created an Alameda County Abatement Program consistent with the State of California guidelines; and WHEREAS, the statute requires that the majority of the cities representing the majority of the incorporated population and the Board of Supervisors approve and endorse the program; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda believes that the program will be of benefit to the populace of the City and the entire County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Alameda does hereby approve and endorse the Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Program dated November 14, 1991.
