Resolution 12280CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12280 REQUESTING THE ALAMEDA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO PERMIT THE COUNTY CLERK TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA ELECTION NOVEMBER 3, 1992 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 22003 of the California Elections Code, said Council hereby requests the Alameda Board of Supervisors to permit the Alameda County Clerk to render specified services to the City relating to the conduct of the City of Alameda Election on November 3, 1992. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that specified services include Pre - election, Election Day, Post- election and Data Processing Services, Registrar Stock Supplies and Vendor Services and Supplies, all as set out in that certain document entitled "Election Services and Supplies - Registrar /City Clerk" and agreed upon by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters and the City Clerk of the City of Alameda. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of July , 1992, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 5. Felsch, City Clerk City of Alameda CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12281 CALLING FOR A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE CONSOLIDATED WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION, TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1992; ESTABLISHING ELECTION PRECINCTS; FIXING NUMBER OF ELECTION OFFICERS ON THE BOARD OF ELECTION FOR EACH PRECINCT; FIXING COMPENSATION OF ELECTION OFFICERS AND DESIGNATING HOURS OF VOTING. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Alameda (the "Charter") provides that the City's General Municipal Election will be held on each even year and shall be consolidated with the Statewide General Election (the "Consolidated General Municipal Election") and that the Statewide General election shall be held in said City on Tuesday, November 3, 1992, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter, it is necessary to elect: (1) two persons to fill the office of City Councilmember; (2) three persons to fill the office of Member of Board of Education; (3) one person to fill the the office of City Auditor; and (4) one person to fill the office of City Treasurer; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to vote upon certain ballot measures >- properly placed on the ballot. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Alameda as follows: Section 1. The City's General Municipal Election is hereby called and ordered to be consolidated with the Statewide General Election to be held in said City of Alameda, State of California, on Tuesday, November 3, 1992, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter and the Elections Code of the State of California, for the purpose of voting upon ballot measures and electing the following named officers of the City for the terms specified: a) Two (2) Councilmembers for the City Council of the City of Alameda, each term commencing at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the third Tuesday in December, 1992, and continuing for four (4) years thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified. b) Three (3) Members of the Board of Education of the City of Alameda, each term commencing at 7:30 o'clock p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month in December, 1992, and continuing for four (4) years thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified. c) One (1) City Auditor of the City of Alameda, the term commencing at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the third Tuesday in December, 1992, and continuing for four (4) years thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified. d) One (1) City Treasurer of the City of Alameda, the term commencing at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the third Tuesday in December, 1992, and continuing for four (4) years thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified. e) All ballot measures or advisory measures or propositions which may lawfully be submitted at said election. Section 2. The election precincts within the City for the Consolidated General Municipal Election shall be the same as those established, designated, numbered, fixed and established by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, State of California, as the election precincts. Section 3. The consolidated election shall be held and conducted, election officers appointed, voting precincts designated, candidates nominated, ballots printed, polls opened and closed, ballots counted and returned, returns canvissed, results declared, certificates of election issued and all other proceedings incidental to and connected, with the election shall be regulated and done, all in accordance with the provisions of law regulating the statewide election. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to provide the Alameda County Registrar of Voters with all pertinent information and material as required. Section 5. The Council shall meet at its usual meeting place to review the certified statement of the results of the elections within 28 days of the election and shall thereafter declare the results.
