Resolution 12283CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12283 SUPPORTING HR 3776 (ENGLE) CONCERNING AMENDMENT OF THE AIRPORT NOISE AND CAPACITY ACT OF 1990 WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is subject to significant noise and safety impacts from the Metropolitan Oakland International Airport ("MOIA"); and WHEREAS, the existing Airport Noise and Capacity Act ("ANCA") strictly limits the ability of airport proprietors to impose noise and access restrictions on certain aircraft operators; and. WHEREAS, the limitations on noise and access restrictions, imposed by ANCA may prohibit the Port of Oakland from implementing certain types of new noise abatement and aircraft operations limits, at MOIA; and WHEREAS, the amendments to ANCA in HR 3776 would permit-‹ new noise abatement programs and restrictions on aircraft›- operations at MOIA that are presently limited by ANCA; and WHEREAS, the amendments to ANCA proposed in HR 3776 would favorably affect the City of Alameda. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the Council's support for HR 3776 be made known to all members of the United States House of Representatives who may have influence over the bill; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to all members of the United States House of Representatives who may have influence over the bill, the Bay Area delegation in the United States House of Representatives, and California's two United States Senators. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of July 1992, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 5.
