Resolution 12298CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12 2 9 8 SUPPORTING RESTORATION OF THE CARNEGIE BUILDING WHEREAS, City of Alameda Resolution No. 9732 designated the Alameda Free Library as an Alameda Historical Monument; and WHEREAS, City of Alameda Resolution No. 10463 designated the Carnegie Building as a Historical Building into perpetuity; and WHEREAS, the present Council of the City of Alameda supports restoration of the building and resolves to retain and maintain this historical treasure for all to enjoy; and WHEREAS, when a new main library is built, it is the policy of the City that the Carnegie Building will be considered for a City or other public use purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED if the Carnegie Building is ever considered for demolition, this resolution will need to be reaffirmed or rejected by the Council voting in open session before demolition can take place. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of July , 1992, by the following vote to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTENTIONS: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas and Roth 4.
