AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LEASE FOR OFFICE
SPACE AT 1500 1504 PARK STREET ALSO KNOWN AS
2411 SANTA CLARA AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is required by the State to
achieve certain waste reduction goals, as outlined in the City of
Alameda Source Reduction Recycling Element; and,
WHEREAS, the Source Reduction Recycling Element, adopted at
the April 7, 1992 Council Meeting, identifies that additional staff
will be required in order to implement the identified programs;
and,
WHEREAS, the additional office space needed to support the
waste reduction activities, is not available in any of the existing
City facilities; and,
WHEREAS, Bank of America National Trust and Savings has office
space available for sublease at their facility at 1500 -1505 Park
Street (also known as 2411 Santa Clara Avenue) that is suitable for
such purposes, at a cost of $7,500 per year; and,
WHEREAS, funds for this purpose have been budgeted in the 1992
- 1993 Fiscal Year budget for the Waste Management and Recycling
Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, the City Council of the
City of Alameda hereby approves and authorizes the execution of the
sublease between the City of Alameda, sublessee and Bank of America
National Trust and Savings, lessee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, the Mayor of the City of Alameda
is hereby authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City of
Alameda, the sublease substantially in the form and containing the
terms and conditions and covenants as set out in the Lease, a copy
of which is on file in the City Clerk's office, and the City Clerk
is hereby authorized and directed to attest the same.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 18th day of
August , 1992, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None,
ABSTENTIONS: None.
