RATIFYING PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD
APPROVAL OF THE
TRANSMISSION AGENCY OF NORTHERN CA4IFORNIA
SOUTH OF TESLA AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Electricity of the City of Alameda
(Bureau) is a member of the Transmission Agency of Northern
California (TANC); and
WHEREAS, the Members of TANC, including the Bureau, have
developed a South of Tesla Agreement to set forth South of Tesla
(SOT) members' rights and obligations with regard to the SOT
transmission service and related facilities; and
WHEREAS, the TANC Counsel and TANC Commission approved the SOT
Agreement and recommended its approval by the participating members
of TANC; and
WHEREAS, SOT service from PG&E has been used to deliver power
for the Bureau since March 1992 pursuant to a Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission Order; and
WHEREAS, the use of SOT service has economically benefitted
the Bureau and its ratepayers and benefits are expected to continue
if the Bureau participates in the SOT Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has approved the SOT Agreement as
to form; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting on December 21, 1992, the Public
Utilities Board of the City of Alameda adopted a resolution
approving the Bureau's continued participation in the use of SOT
service, approving the SOT Agreement and recommending City Council
ratification of its action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Alameda that said Council hereby ratifies the Public
Utilities Board action and authorizes the President of the Public
Utilities Board to execute the South of Tesla Agreement between the
Transmission Agency of Northern California and its participating
members.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of
January , 1993, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Adpezzato, Arnerich, Lucas,
Roth and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
