APPROVING LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN CITY OF ALAMEDA
AND INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 689
REGARDING PRIMARY TRANSPORT UNIT FOR BAY FARM ISLAND
WHEREAS, statistical data has been obtained by the City
of Alameda Fire Department that indicates that response times for
ambulance service on Bay Farm Island would be improved if an
ambulance vehicle on Bay Farm Island handled the patient
transports; and
WHEREAS, at the Council meeting of November 13, 1992,
City Council expressed a desire for improved ambulance service on
0 Bay Farm Island; and
• WHEREAS, there has been submitted to this Council a
LC Letter of Understa3Iding between the City of Alameda and the
International Association of Firefighters, Local 689, dated January
27, 1993, to provide a primary transport unit for Bay Farm Island;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has fully
examined said Letter of Understanding and hereby finds and
determines adoption of said documents to be in the best interest of
the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby approves and adopts said Letter
of Understanding between the City of Alameda and International
Association of Firefighters, Local 689,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Letter of Understanding
shall remain in effect until June 30, 1993, unless superseded
before that date by a future Letter or Memorandum of Understanding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of this
resolution shall supersede any other resolution in conflict
herewith.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of
February , 1993, by the following vote to wit:
