Resolution 12373CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12373 APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 689 AND THE CITY OF ALAMEDA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 1993 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1994 WHEREAS, there has been submitted to this Council a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Association of Firefighters Local 689 and the City of Alameda; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has fully examined said proposed Memorandum of Understanding, a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and thereby finds and determines adoption of said document to be in the best interest of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby approves and adopts said proposed Memorandum of Understanding. Feisch, City Clerk City of Alameda 0 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12374 AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH CALTRANS FOR STATE TRAFFIC SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT (TSM) FUNDS FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT ATLANTIC AVENUE AND MAIN STREET WHEREAS, in August 1991, the City submitted two projects; Intersection Improvements at Atlantic Avenue and Main Street, and Park Street Left-Turn Pocket and Bridge Preempt Coordination Project, for consideration under Caltrans Traffic Systems Management Program (TSM); and WHEREAS, Caltrans has approved $222,000 in State Traffic Systems Management (TSM) funds for the Atlantic Avenue and Main Street Project; and >-- WHEREAS, this project will enhance operations of the signal at Atlantic Avenue and Main Street by providing signal inter-connect between Atlantic Avenue and Third Street by providing a designated westbound right-turn lane; by relocating the Navy's gate westward approximately 100 feet to provide more vehicle queuing storage on-base, which will help to avoid cars becoming gridlocked in the street, and by enhancing two bus stops to c.) encourage transit use; and WHEREAS, a State-Local Entity Master Agreement No. TSM/FCR 5014 and Program Supplement No. 1 for the Traffic System Management/Flexible Congestion Relief Project must be entered into in order for the City to be reimbursed for this work; and WHEREAS, Caltrans requires a resolution from the City's Council authorizing this agreement. WHEREAS, a Notice of Exemption was issued on October 21, 1992 and filed with the County; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an Agreement with Caltrans for TSM funds for the intersection Improvements at Atlantic Avenue and Main Street.
