AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF TAX DEFAULTED PROPERTY EAST
OF MARKET STREET, WITHIN THE EASTERLY TERMINUS. OF
FILLMORE STREET AT FERNSIDE BOULEVARD (APN 69-27-2-7)
WHEREAS, on March 26, 1993, the City of Alameda was notified,
pursuant to the Revenue and Taxation Code section 3700, of a
proposed sealed bid of sale of tax defaulted property for a minimum
bid of $1100; and
WHEREAS, said property, known as APN 69-27-2-7, is an
irregular shaped parcel located within the easterly terminus of
Fillmore Street at Fernside Blvd and is approximately 1,975 square
feet in size; and
WHEREAS, the property is within the City right-of-way and
includes City sanitary and storm drainage facilities; and

4-, ----i M WHEREAS, the City, as a public agency, is entitled to purchase
u) 0 the property at the minimum bid price under the provisions of
Chapter 8 of the State Revenue and Taxation Code; and

WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to obtain said
0 t-,L, 5 property rather than allowing it to be purchased by a private party
whose use might not be compatible with the City's needs;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Alameda hereby authorizes purchase of said property up to the
minimum amount of $1100;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby appropriates
the necessary funds from Measure B proceeds; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director and the
City Clerk be, and each hereby is, authorized and directed to
execute and to attest to, respectively, on behalf of the City, the
required Chapter 8 Agreement documents when received from the
Alameda County Tax Collector.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of
May , 1993, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Appezzato, Arnerich, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
