Resolution 12442CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12442 COMMENDING SENATOR DIANNE FEINSTEIN FOR HER EFFORTS TO RETAIN THE ALAMEDA NAVAL AIR STATION AND ALAMEDA NAVAL AVIATION DEPOT AND FOR HER CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR CONVERSION FROM MILITARY TO CIVILIAN USE WHEREAS, Alameda Naval Air Station ("NAS Alameda") and Alameda Naval Aviation Depot ("NADEP Alameda") have been selected for closure; and WHEREAS, Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif, in her efforts to save California military bases, introduced a Senate resolution that called for the Senate and House of Representatives to disapprove the base closure list recommended by the Base Closure LL. ,;',\4>- and Realignment Commission; and WHEREAS, Senatoi: Feinstein is now striving to ease the co' transition from military to civilian economies for the City of < Alameda and other cities whose bases are slated for closure; .;; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that Senator Dianne Feinstein be commended on her efforts to retain the Alameda Naval Air Station and Alameda Naval Aviation Depot; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that the efforts of Senator Diane Feinstein to make Alameda Naval Air Station and Alameda Naval Aviation Depot models for base conversion and reuse will not go unnoticed by the community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to Senator Dianne Feinstein, Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, NAS Alameda Transition Coordinator, and NADEP Alameda Transition Coordinator. I, the undersigned, hereby certify .that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of August , 1993, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Appezzato, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 4.
