AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATION FOR
CITY HALL REHABILITATION FUNDING UNDER THE
EARTHQUAKE SAFETY AND PUBLIC BUILDING
REHABILITATION ACT OF 1990 AND GUARANTEEING
MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE SEISMIC REHABILITATION
PORTION OF THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda, a California city organized
and operated under the Constitution and laws of the State of
California, wishes to receive a commitment of funds for City Hall
seismic rehabilitation under the Earthquake Safety. and Public
Building Rehabilitation Act of 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda's application was accepted
in the Part 1 Qualifications and has now been invited to submit the
State Grant Part 2 Qualification package;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby authorizes staff to apply for
the Part 2 Qualification Package for City Hall Rehabilitation
Funding under the Earthquake Safety and Public Building
Rehabilitation Act of 1990.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Council hereby
guarantees 25% matching funds in an amount up to $750,000 to be
appropriated from the General Fund for the seismic rehabilitation
portion of the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Alameda
authorizes William C. Norton, City Manager, to conduct in the name
of the City of Alameda all negotiations, execute and submit all
documents, amendments, and payment requests for the grant
application for City Hall rehabilitation funding.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of
October , 1993, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Appezzato, Axnerich, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
