Resolution 12504CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12504 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF SEVEN POLICE VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, there are funds available in the police equipment replacement fund for the purchase of seven new police vehicles; and WHEREAS, the Ford Crown Victoria, with C.H.P. specifications, is available through Melrose Ford on the City of Oakland bid; and WHEREAS, this vehicle is the best option for police class equipment available to the City at this time and can be obtained at a considerable savings to the City through this purchase. WHEREAS, Section 3-15 of the City Charter provides that the City Council, by four affirmative votes, can authorize an open market purchase it it determines that the Materials or supplies can be purchased at a lower price in the open market; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter, the Police Department, in cooperation with the Finance Director, is hereby authorized to purchase seven (7) Ford Crown Victoria, C.H.P. specification, vehicles from Melrose Ford, Oakland, California. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of March , 1994, by the following vote to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmembers Appezzato, Arnerich, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 5.
