AMENDING MASTER FEE RESOLUTION NO. 12191
SETTING SEWER SERVICE AND CONNECTION FEES
WHEREAS, the sewer user fee collected each year by the
City provides the major revenue source for the operation and
maintenance of the sewage collection system; and
WHEREAS, when costs of operation increase, it is
necessary to periodically increase the user charge if the system is
to be self supporting; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this revenue program is to
evaluate the current revenue and cost structure of the sewer
enterprise and to equitably modify the revenue structure to meet
planned expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Municipal Code and the California
Government Code provide that the City Council may set fees for -4
reasonable cost of providing various services by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, at the August 27, 1991 Special
City Council meeting, directed City staff to amend the Alameda
Municipal Code to reflect that City fees shall be set by City
Council resolution; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 12191 ("Master Fee Resolution"),
as amended, codifies existing fees for various City services and
permits; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda, that the following rates, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
be established as Sewer Service and Connection fees for Fiscal Year
1994-95, 1995-96, and 1996-97.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all fees established by
Master Fee Resolution No. 12191 which are inconsistent with the
fees established by this resolution are hereby repealed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all existing fees and terms
contained in Master Fee Resolution No. 12191 not superseded by this
Resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall not be
become effective until the effective date of the adoption of the
required implementing Ordinance.
