APPROPRIATING $873,500 FOR A BASEBALL FACILITY
AT THE COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, on June 19, 1991, the Peralta Community College
District (PCCD) and the City of Alameda (City) entered into a Joint
Use Agreement for the purpose of constructing a baseball facility
at the College of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the Joint Use Agreement requires the City to
appropriate funds for this project by July 1, 1994, or the
agreement automatically terminates; and
WHEREAS, once the baseball facility is constructed and
accepted, the term of the contract between the District and City
will run for twenty-five (25) years; and
WHEREAS, City has attempted to qualify the project for
use of Measure AA funding. Such funding, however, is not available
for this project at this time under the existing conditions; and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Dwelling Unit Tax
monies originally ear-marked for certain Park Capital Projects, be
0 replaced with like amount of Measure AA funds, and said Dwelling
Unit Tax monies be applied to the construction of the baseball
facility; and
WHEREAS, in combination with other funding, a total of
$873,500 is available for construction of the baseball facility at
the College of Alameda.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Alameda
does hereby appropriate $873,500 for the purpose of funding the
baseball facility at the College of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of
June , 1994, by the following vote to wit:

Councilmembers Arnerich, Lucas, Roth and
President Withrow - 4.
NOES: Councilmember Appezzato - 1.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
