CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12604
AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE OF
THREE POLICE UNMARKED VEHICLES
FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BID
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the police
equipment replacement fund for the purchase of three new police
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Oldsmobile Cierra, with State
Specifications, is available through the State of California bid;
and
WHEREAS, this vehicle is the best option for police class
equipment available to the City at the time and can be obtained at
a considerable savings to the City through this purchase; and
WHEREAS, Section 3-15 of the City Charter provides that
the City Council, by four affirmative votes, can authorize an open
: market purchase if it determines that the materials or supplies can
be purchased at a lower price in the open market.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda, that pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter, the
Police Department, in cooperation with the Finance Director, is
hereby authorized to purchase three (3) Oldsmobile Cierra vehicles
from the State of California bid.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of
January , 1995, by the following vote to wit:

Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas,
Mannix and President Appezzato - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
