Resolution 12612CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12612 CONFERRING WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS TO CITY VOLUNTEERS WHEREAS, many residents of the City of Alameda perform volunteer services for the City of Alameda which are of great benefit to the City of Alameda; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Alameda to consider these volunteers as employees of the City of Alameda in order to permit recovery for injury or damage occassioned while serving in such capacity under the provisions of the Workers' Compensation Law of the State of California; and WHEREAS, Labor Code Section 3363.5 authorizes the City to take such action. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda as follows: 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City I- of Alameda to implement the provisions of Labor Code Section gii 0) 3363.5 ; and 0 e) 2. That all persons performing voluntary service without pay for the City of Alameda shall be deemed employees of the City of Alameda. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of February , 1995, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Counciimenbers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas, Mannix and President Appezzato - 5.
