Resolution 12742CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12742 APPROVING REVISED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ALAMEDA MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION AND THE CITY OF ALAMEDA; APPROVING A SALARY SCHEDULE FOR THREE APPOINTED AND THREE UNREPRESENTED EMPLOYEES; AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENTS TO THE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS FOR THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY; ALL THREE ACTIONS FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1995 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1999. WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Alameda Management and Confidential Employees Associaticn and the City of Alameda has been submitted to this Council; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has carefully considered the Memorandum of Understanding submitted to it (and stecifically the classification and rates of pay set forth on Appendix A to the document), a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and hereby finds and determines that adoption of said document is in the best interests of the City; and WHEREAS, a salary schedule for three appointed positions and three unrepresented positions has also been submitted to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the salary rates, salary ranges and salary steps in the salary schedule, a copy of which is on filed in the Office of the City Clerk, and finds and determines that it is in the best interests of the City to adopt that salary schedule; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and City Attorney are employed by the City pursuant to employment agreements and amendments to those agreements are necessary and desirable to effect the changes in salaries and to set forth the terms and benefits of employment for these two appointed officials of the City; and WHEREAS, proposed amendments to the employment agreements with the City Manager and City Attorney have been submitted to the City Council, copies of which are on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and the City Council has reviewed and considered these amendments and finds and determines that they are in the best interests of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda that the City Council hereby approves and adopts both the revised Memorandum of Understanding and the salary schedule. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amendments to the employments agreements with the City Manager and City Attorney are hereby approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute the amendments on behalf of the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of this resolution shall supersede any other resolution in conflict herewith.
