Resolution 12746CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12746 DENYING AN APPEAL OF A HISTORICAL ADVISORY BOARD'S DENIAL OF HSBL-96-1 TO REMOVE 1715 PARK STREET FROM THE HISTORIC BUILDING STUDY LIST WHEREAS, Patrick Ellwood made an application on behalf of James and Michael Bradford; and WHEREAS, the application was complete on November 30, 1995; and WHEREAS, the General Plan designation for the site is Community Commercial; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance classification for the site is C-M (Commercial Manufacturing); and WHEREAS, the Historical Advisory Board held public hearings to consider the application on December 14, 1995 and January 4, 1996 N„, and upon due consideration denied the application; and WHEREAS, an appeal was made on January 17, 1996 by Patrick Ellwood to the City Council of the denial by the Historical Advisory Board of the application to remove the property from the Historic Building Study List; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on this appeal on March 5, 1996, and examined pertinent maps, drawings and documents; and WHEREAS, the City Countil finds that this proposal is not defined as a project in accordance with article 20, definitions of the CEQA Guidelines; and WHEREAS, the City Council made the following findings: 1. The property retains some of its exterior historic fabric, specifically the second story facade is an excellent example of Italianate Commercial Storefront. 2. The building is the only remaining example of its kind in the block. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby denies the appeal. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of March , 1996, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers DeWitt, Lucas and President Appezzato - 3.
