ESTABLISHING POLICY FOR
ISSUANCE OF PROCLAMATIONS
.WHEREAS, at the Regular City Council meeting of May 21,
1996, City Council considered setting the policy for issuance of
Proclamations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Alameda that:
The City Council, on its own motion, hereby establishes
the following policy for issuance of Proclamations:
Mayoral Proclamations are issued in the Mayor's name and
at his /her discretion and dealing with routine ceremonial and
protocol type issues.
City Proclamations are issued by the Council at the
specific request of groups or individuals and dealing with the less
routine issues which address areas of political, moral, religious,
or sociological questions.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21th
day of May , 1996, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt and
Vice Mayor Mannix - 3.
NOES: Councilmember Lucas and President Appezzato - 2.
ABSENT: None.
ABSENTENTIONS: None.
IN WITNESS, WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
