AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATIONS
FOR FY 1996-97 ASSEMBLY BILL 434 6096 FUNDS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have
been adopted by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District
(BAAQMD) in accordance with the provisions of Assembly Bill 434
(Sher), an eligible claimant wishing to receive allocation from AB
434 6096 funds shall file its application with the BAAQMD; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda, as a public agency
responsible for implementing projects or programs which achieve
emission reductions by effectively developing and implementing
specific transportation control measures, is eligible to submit
projects or programs for Assembly Bill 434 60%- funds; and.
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has identified two projects
that are eligible for said funds: (1) Citywide Electric Vehicle
Replacement Rebate Program with the estimated project cost being
$1,764,000, and (2) Alameda Ferry Electric Station Car Program with
the estimated project cost being $600,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Alameda that said Council hereby authorizes the City
Manager to apply to FY 1996-97 AB 434 6096 funds, and carry out the
proposed programs and projects for (1) Citywide Electric Vehicle
Replacement Rebate and (2) Alameda Ferry Electric Station Car
Program.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 18th
day of June , 1996, by the following vote to wit:

Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas, Mannix
and President Appezzato - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSENTENTIONS: None.
