Resolution 12814CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12814 ADOPTING CITY OF ALAMEDA FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE POLICY WHEREAS, the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) and the California Family Rights Act of 1993 (CFRA) require that large employers grant eligible employees twelve weeks of leave under certain circumstances; and WHEREAS, as an employer with more than fifty employees, the City of Alameda must comply with both the FMLA and CFRA; and WHEREAS, the Family and Medical Leave Policy which incorporates both the FMLA and CFRA has been distributed to all nine bargaining units, and there has been no comments or questions from any of the nine bargaining units. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the City of Alameda Family and Medical Leave Policy presented to the City Council at the September 3, 1996 City Council meeting is hereby approved and adopted. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of September , 1996, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas and President Appezzato - 4.
