Resolution 12839CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12839
AUTHORIZING THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR
TO DISCARD OBSOLETE OR DAMAGED BOOKS, PUBLICATIONS
AND OTHER DONATED AND SURPLUS LIBRARY MATERIAL
WHEREAS, in the normal course of operation of the Alameda
Free Library, certain books, publications, and other library
material become damaged, obsolete and otherwise unusable for
library purposes; and
WHEREAS, the determination that such material is surplus
to the needs of the library can be best and most effectively
determined by the Library Director.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the Library Director is hereby authorized to order
the sale or other disposition of all obsolete and damaged books,
publications and donated and surplus library material in accordance
with the procedures developed by the Library Director and approved
by the Library Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution supersedes
Resolution No. 12033 and any others in conflict with it.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th
day of November , 1996, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas
and President Appezzato - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
