Resolution 12842CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION N0.12842 DESIGNATING 891 UNION STREET A CITY HISTORICAL MONUMENT WHEREAS, the Historical Advisory Board on September 5, 1996, unanimously recommended designation of the exterior of the Joseph A. Leonard Mansion at 891 Union Street as a City Historical Monument; and. Joseph A. Alameda's WHEREAS, the building was designed and constructed by Leonard, a prominent local builder, in 1896; and WHEREAS, the building is an important element in history as an early residential community; and WHEREAS, in Alameda; and WHEREAS, architecture; and the building was the first electrified residence the building is a good example of Queen Anne WHEREAS, the building will be 100 years old in 1996. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the exterior of the Joseph A. Leonard Mansion at 891 Union Street is hereby designated as a City Historical Monument. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of December , 1996, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, DeWitt, Lucas and President Appezzato - 4.
