Resolution 12857CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12857 REQUESTING THE STATE LANDS COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO INITIATE THE PROCEEDINGS NECESSARY TO RETROCEDE JURISDICTION AT NAVAL AIR STATION ALAMEDA FROM EXCLUSIVE TO CONCURRENT JURISDICTION WHEREAS, the Naval Air Station, Alameda is currently operated under the exclusive jurisdiction of the federal government; and WHEREAS, the federal government intends to close the base on April 30, 1997 and has indicated its desire to initiate the process to retrocede its exclusive jurisdiction to a transitional concurrent(sharing)jurisdiction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda that the City of Alameda has no objection to the United States of America, acting through the Department of the Navy of the Department of Defence, requesting the State Lands Commission of the State of California to initiate the proceedings necessary to retrocede jurisdiction at Naval Air Station Alameda from exclusive to concurrent jurisdiction. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of March 1997, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas and President Appezzato - 5. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. ABSTENTIONS: None.
