AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH CALTRANS FOR
FEDERAL AID CONGESTION MITIGATION AND AIR QUALITY (CMAQ)
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS
FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING,
AND CONSTRUCTION OF
EAST END SIGNAL COORDINATION PROJECT (CML-5014(011))
WHEREAS, in October 1995, the City submitted the East End
Signal Coordination Project for consideration under the Federal
Aid congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement
Program; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans has field reviewed this project to their
Satisfaction and has authorized this project to be eligible to
eceive $96,000 in Federal funds for preliminary engineering,
construction engineering and construction of the East End Signal
—'Coordination Project; and
WHEREAS, the East End Signal Coordination Project will
upgrade existing signal equipment and provide signal coordination
of eight signals along Otis, Drive (SR 61), Fernside Boulevard,
Doolittle Drive, Island Drive, and Robert Davy, Jr. Drive; and
WHEREAS, a Program Supplement Agreement Number 018 to
Administer Agency-State Agreement No.04-5014 covering preliminary
edhgineering, construction engineering and construction for the
above referenced project must he entered into in order for the
City to be reimbursed for this work; and
WHEREAS, Caltrans requires a resolution from the City's
Council authorizing this agreement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Alameda hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into
this Agreement with Caltrans for Federal funds for the
preliminary engineering, construction engineering and
construction of the East End Signal Coordination Project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th
day of May , 1997, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas
and President Appezzato - 5.
NOES: None.

ABSTENTIONS: None.
