Resolution 12893CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12893 DESIGNATING 2295 MARINER SQUARE LOOP (POSEY BUILDING) A CITY HISTORICAL MONUMENT WHEREAS, the Historical Advisory Board on June 5, 1997, unanimously recommended designation of the exterior of the Posey Building and the associated historic railings and pylons on either side of the roadway as a City Historical-Monument; and WHEREAS, the building is associated with the importance of the automobile to the development of Alameda; and WHEREAS, the building was designed by Mr. Henry H. Meyers, an Alameda architect with wide area prominence; and WHEREAS, the building is important as a rare example o the Art Deco style architecture of the era. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda to officially designate the exterior of the Posey33 Building and the associated historic railings and pylons on either side of the roadway, but not the entire site, as a City -4C Historical Monument. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 1st day of July , 1997, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas and President Appezzato - 5.
