Resolution 12922CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO 12922 NAMING THREE STREETS AT ALAMEDA POINT AND RENAMING ONE STREET AT CALIFORNIA HERITAGE BAY, TRACT 6877 WHEREAS, on March 6, 1997, the Historical Advisory Board (HAB) adopted a Resolution adding to the Official List of Names for City Facilities and Street (Official List) selected names from the Base Reuse Advisory Board (BRAG) Committee List, from Planning Department Staff recommendations, and from the street names currently in use at Naval Air Station Alameda (NAS); and WHEREAS, on August 11, 1997, the Planning Board adopted a Resolution recommending that the City Council adopt the names West Ingersoll Avenue, West Jouett Avenue and Panoramic Rim for streets at Alameda Point as recommended by the Base Reuse Advisory Board (BRAG), and to rename the street Ranger Court within the California Heritage Bay, Tract 6877, to Brower Court, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed name Panoramic Rim, although not currently on the Official List for Naming City Facilities and Streets (Official List), does honor persons and /or events in the history of the City and therefore is consistent with the purpose of the City of Alameda Street Naming Policy; and WHEREAS, the City Council has made the following findings: The HAB recommendation and the BRAG Street Naming Committee's proposed street names are consistent with the general considerations of the Street Naming Policy. The HAB recommendation and the BRAG Street Naming Committee's proposed street z names are consistent with the prefix and suffix designation criteria of the Street Naming Policy. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby finds that the proposal is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act, Guidelines, Section 15301 -- alterations to an existing facility; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby amends Resolution Number 10037, which adopted the City of Alameda Street Naming Policy, to establish an exception from the procedures for street naming for adopting the proposed street names at Alameda Point as set out in this Resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby adopts the street names "West Ingersoll Avenue ", "West Jouett Avenue ", and "Panoramic Rim" for the streets at Alameda Point formerly referred to by the Navy as Ingersoll Street, Jouett Street and Perimeter Circle, respectively, and the previously named Ranger Court within the California Heritage Bay Tract 6877, to "Brower Court". I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of September , 1997, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas and President Appezzato - 5.
