Resolution 12950CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12950 AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY AGREEMENTS AND DOCUMENTS FOR PETROLEUM VIOLATION ESCROW ACCOUNT (PVEA) FUNDS WHEREAS, the Alameda/Oakland Ferry now carries over 486,000 riders per calendar year with ridership increasing at approximately 13% per year; and WHEREAS, a 350+ passenger catamaran is necessary to accommodate current and projected ridership demand; and WHEREAS, the City has agreed to the lease/purchase of the 350+ passenger catamaran (Encinal); and WHEREAS, the City has applied for Petroleum Violation Escrow Account (PVEA) funding of $215,000 toward the lease/purchase of a 350+ passenger catamaran (Encinal); and WHEREAS, the City's PVEA application has been approved and funded; and WHEREAS, PVEA regulations requires that the Council, by resolution, authorize execution of the PVEA funding agreement and authorize a designee to execute all agreements for PVEA documents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the Public Works Director is authorized to execute all necessary agreements and documents with Caltrans for $215,000 in PVEA funds for the purpose of acquiring a 350+ passenger catamaran for the West End Ferry Service. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of January , 1998, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr and President Appezzato - 4: NOES: None.
