AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FISCAL YEAR (FY) 1998/99 AND
FY 1999/00 BICYCLE LANE ACCOUNT (BLA) FUNDS
FOR BICYCLE PROJECTS, NO. P.W. 01 -99 -01
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has allocated
BLA funds for bicycle projects for the fiscal years 1998/99 and 1999/00; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to apply to Caltrans for the funding of a
project: $100,000 for a Bicycle Loop Detector Project; and
WHEREAS, BLA funding guidelines require that local agencies fund at least 10%
of the total project cost; and
WHEREAS, the City has $10,000 in funds available in Assessment District 89 -1
to provide the local matching funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Alameda authorizes the filing of applications with Caltrans for allocation of BLA funds for fiscal
years 1998/99 and 1999/00 for the projects described above, authorizes the necessary 10% local
match and authorize the Public Works Director to execute any necessary documents.

adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on
the 19th day of January , 1999, by the following vote to wit:
