Resolution 13155CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13155 ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION COMMENDING ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY FOR YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AS HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA records its appreciation for the years of service faithfully rendered by ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY for the City of Alameda; and WHEREAS, ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY was first hired by the City in August, 1979 and rose to the position of Human Resources Director; and WHEREAS, under ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY'S able leadership, the City has adopted progressive programs in the areas of personnel management, employee training and development, compensation and flexible staffing, diversity outreach and recruitment programs, and innovative labor relations solutions; and WHEREAS, as a result of her further commitment to the City of Alameda, ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY has been instrumental in the implementation of other significant programs, such as: the City Volunteer program, the 1999 Career Development program, the Employee Assistance program and the development of a comprehensive employee handbook; and WHEREAS, on March 18, 1999, ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY'S accomplishments culminated in being recognized by the League of California Cities with the 1999 Professional Excellence Award which is emblematic of the very best in the Human Resources profession; and WHEREAS.; on September 30, 1999, ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY officially retired from her position as Human Resources Director for the City of Alameda. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby congratulate ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY for her outstanding achievement in the Human Resources field and recognizes her for her commitment and exceptional contributions to the City of Alameda and to the profession. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda, acknowledging her energy and resourcefulness, does hereby congratulate ELIZEBETH B. KINGSLEY on her years and service to the community and extends its deepest gratitude for her many labors on behalf of the City of Alameda. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of November , 1999, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
