Resolution 13166ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13166 OPPOSING PROPOSITION 22 (THE KNIGHT INITIATIVE) WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is a diverse municipality; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has made clear its intent to protect the rights of all its citizens and create an environment that enhances diversity and harmony by taking stands against attempts that divide and diminish rather than unite and affirm. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby opposes any legislation, including the Knight Initiative, which is contrary to the acceptance of diversity and divisive in nature and for this reason the City Council opposes Proposition 22. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of January , 2000, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, and Mayor Appezzato - 4: NOES: None.
