Resolution 13187CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13187 RESOLUTION UNDER CITY CHARTER SECTION 3 -15 AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES TO A MAXIMUM OF $175,000 TO BEGIN EMERGENCY REPAIRS AT MASTICK SENIOR CENTER WHEREAS, on February 11, 2000, a fire significantly damaged portions of the kitchen, attic areas and roof of the Mastick Senior Center; and WHEREAS, a series of storms have resulted in additional water damage in the library and reception areas; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3 -15 of the City Charter, the Council may, by four (4) votes, determine that great necessity or emergency requires immediate action and thereupon proceed to acquire contractors in the open market to make necessary repairs; and WHEREAS, great necessity exists to begin emergency repairs at Mastick Senior Center to avoid further water damage during the winter storm season; and WHEREAS, open market negotiation is necessary to begin emergency repairs at Mastick Senior Center; and WHEREAS, allocation of a maximum of $175,000 is required to begin emergency repairs at Mastick Senior Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BF, 11" RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that, pursuant to Section 3-15 of the City Charter, the City Council, by four (4) votes, hereby allocates and appropriates $175,000 to begin emergency repair; with a claim for reimbursement of all expenditures in excess of the City's self - insured retention to be submitted to the City's insurance pool. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of February , 2000, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato 5.
