Resolution 13361CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13361 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR FIVE PERCENT UNRESTRICTED STATE FUNDS AND TWO PERCENT BRIDGE TOLL RESERVE FUNDS FOR OPERATING SUBSIDY AND CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR CITY OF ALAMEDA FERRY SERVICES , ALLOCATING MATCH FUNDS AND TO ENTER INTO ALL AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO SECURE THESE FUNDS FOR FY 2001/02. WHEREAS, Regional Measure 1 (November 1988) created revenues for allocation by Metropolitan Transportation Commission; and WHEREAS, the monies can be used to fund planning, operating, and capital projects for water transit purposes which are designed to reduce vehicular traffic on the bridges; and WHEREAS, the public entities are eligible applicants; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda operates both a West and East End Ferry Service; and WHEREAS, staff has identified the need for an operational subsidy for these ferry services and has committed local match in the amount of $151,000 from City local Measure B and $151,000 from Port of Oakland funds for Alameda/Oakland Ferry Service and $249,000 from local Transportation Improvement Funds for Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry; and WHEREAS, the City has identified the need for five capital projects necessary for the efficient operation of these ferry services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby approve the applications for both the East End and the Alameda/Oakland Ferry Services for FY 2001/02 and authorizes the City Manager to apply for Five Percent Unrestricted State Funds and Two Percent Bridge Toll Revenue Funds for Operating Subsidy and Capital projects to enter into all agreements necessary to secure these funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of June, 2001, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
