SUPPORTING THE CITY OF ALAMEDA'S PARTICIPATION AS
A PARTNER IN THE ALAMEDA ENTERPRISE
WHEREAS, The Alameda Enterprise is an infrastructure of governmental and non - profit
organizations, local businesses and several major corporations; and
WHEREAS, with the assistance of business and community partners, The Alameda Unified
School District (AUSD) is endeavoring to connect the entire region to educational, community and
business services through The Alameda Enterprise; and
WHEREAS, The Alameda Enterprise prospective partners include Alameda Power &
Telecom, City of Alameda, CENIC, Cisco Systems, Dell Computer Corporation, Microsoft
Corporation, Pearson NCS Learn, Peralta Community Colleges, Project Pipeline, Xerox, and Wind
River Systems; and
WHEREAS, The Alameda Enterprise is committed to the Educational Opportunities for
Continuous Learning: Any Time, Any Place, Any Age, Any Device.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda
hereby supports the City of Alameda's participation as a partner in The Alameda Enterprise,
demonstrating the City's commitment to the support of Educational Opportunities for Continuous
Learning: Any Time, Any Place, Any Age, Any Device.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to Dr. Alan K. Nishino, Superintendent of School, Alameda Unified School
District.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the
20th day of November, 2001, by the following vote to wit:

Mayor Appezzato - 5.
