AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR THE PER
CAPITA GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, CLEAN
WATER, CLEAN AIR, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2000
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of California have approved a
grant for the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond
Act of 2000; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the grant program, setting up the necessary procedures;
and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and
Recreation require the governing body to certify by resolution the approval of the Grantee to
apply for the Per Capita and Roberti Z'Berg -Harris Allocations; and
WHEREAS, the Grantee will enter into a contract with the State of California for Subject
Projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda
hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to:
1. Apply for local assistance funds for the Per Capita Grant Roberti Z'Berg-Hams
programs under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection
Act of 2000; and
2. Certify that the Grantee has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain
the Projects: and
3. Certify that Grantee has reviewed, and understands and agrees to the General
Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the Procedural Guide; and,
4. Conduct all negotiations, execute, and submit all documents including, but not
limited to applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be
necessary for the completion of the projects.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 4th
day of December, 2001, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and
Mayor Appezzato 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
