AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE BAY
AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT FOR FUNDS FOR THE
PURPOSES OF APPLYING FOR FUNDING FOR COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS
(CNG) VEHICLES ON BEHALF OF ALAMEDA COUNTY INDUSTRIES (ACI)
AND AUTHORIZING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SAME IF THE APPLICATION
IS APPROVED BY THE BAY AREA QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is a supporter of clean air and wishcs to take
action to enhance air quality in the San Francisco Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda intends to submit a funding application to the
Bay Area Air Quality Management District for the CNG Vehicles For Use By The City
of Alameda's future solid waste /recycling hauler.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Alameda hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to execute a funding
agreement with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District for the purposes of
replacing diesel Solid Waste/Recycling vehicles with CNG vehicles for use in the City of
Alameda if said application is approved by the Bay Area Air Quality Management
District Board of Directors.

adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on 16th
day of July, 2002, by the following vote to wit:
