APPROVING THE REQUEST TO PLACE 1423 MORTON STREET
ON THE HISTORICAL BUILDING STUDY LIST, CA02 -0015.
WHEREAS, an application was made by David Baker for the Alameda Architectural
Preservation Society to place 1423 Morton Street on the Historical Building Study List; and
WHEREAS, the General Plan designation is Medium - Density Residential; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance classification is R -4, Neighborhood Residential District;
and
WHEREAS, the proposal is Categorically Exempt from CEQA Guidelines, Section 15306
of the CEQA Guidelines, Information Collecting; and
WHEREAS, the Historical Advisory Board has held a public hearings on this application on

cr November 7, 2002 and December 5, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Historical Advisory Board denied the request to place the 1423 Morton
Street on the Historical Building Study List; and
and
WHEREAS, the project was Called For Review by the City Council on December 9, 2002;
WHEREAS, the City Council has made the following finding:
1. Documentation was provided showing that the structure met the evaluation criteria
for being placed on the Historical Building Study List.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby
approves the application to place 1423 Morton Street on the Historical Building Study List.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 4th
day of February, 2003, by the following vote to. wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Matarrese, and Mayor Johnson - 3.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmembers DeWitt and Kerr - 2.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
