Resolution 13556CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13556
AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR CALIHORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION
BATTERY BACKUP SYSTEM GRANT FUNDING AND
COMMITTING THE NECESSARY LOCAL MATCH
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Public Resources Code Section 25403.8, the State
Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission (Energy Commission) is
authorized to provide grants to city, county or city and county governments for battery
backup systems for traffic signals; and
WHEREAS, in order to be eligible for funding, the battery backup systems must
be used in conjunction with light emitting diode traffic signals. '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Connell of the City of
Alameda that:
1. The City Council of the City of Alameda authorizes the Public works
Department to accept a grant up to $64,400.
2. The Public Works Director, or his designee, is authorized and empowered to
execute in the name of the City of Alameda all necessary documents to implement and
carry out the purpose of this resolution and to undertake all actions necessary tt
undertake and complete the energy efficiency project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 18`h
day of February, 2003, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Matarrese, and Mayor
Johnson 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
