Resolution 13720CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13 7 2 0 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR FIVE PERCENT UNRESTRICTED STATE FUNDS AND TWO PERCENT BRIDGE TOLL RESERVE FUNDS FOR OPERATING SUBSIDY AND CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR CITY OF ALAMEDA FERRY SERVICES AND TO ENTER INTO ALL AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO SECURE THESE FUNDS WHEREAS, Regional Measure 1 (November 1988) created revenues for allocation by Metropolitan Transportation Commission; and WHEREAS, the monies can be used to fund planning, operating and capital projects for water transit purposes which are designed to reduce vehicular traffic on the bridges; and WHEREAS, the public entities are eligible applicants; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda operates the Alameda/Oakland Ferry Service and the Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry Service; and services; and WHEREAS, staff has identified the need for an operational subsidy for these ferry WHEREAS, the City has identified the need for six capital projects necessary for the efficient operation of these ferry services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby approve the applications for both the Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry Service and the Alameda/Oakland Ferry Service for FY 2004/05 and authorizes the City Manager to apply for Five Percent Unrestricted State Funds and Two Percent Bridge Toll Revenue Funds for Operating Subsidy and Capital Projects to enter into all agreements necessary to secure these funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting of the City Council on the 1st day of June, 2004, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Gilmore, Kerr, Matarrese, and Mayor Johnson - 5.
