Resolution 13599CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13599 AUTHORIZING OPEN MARKET PURCHASE FOR A 2003 JOHNSON 3000 THREE - WHEELED MECHANICAL SWEEPER PURSUANT TO SECTION 3 -15 OF THE CITY CHARTER WHEREAS, in FY 2001 -02, the Public Works Department was authorized to purchase a replacement street sweeper; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has an opportunity to purchase on the open market a fully equipped 2003 Johnson three -wheel mechanical sweeper with high dump direct from the manufacturer at a significant cost savings to the City; and WHEREAS, Section 3 -15 of the City Charter provides that the City Council, by four affirmative votes, can authorize an open market purchase if it determines that the materials or supplies can be purchased at a lower price in the open market, or that great necessity or emergency requires immediate action; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the 2003 Johnson three -wheel mechanical sweeper (per the teims set forth by Johnson) can be purchased by the City at a lower price in the open market. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that pursuant to Section 3 -15 of the City Charter, and by four affirmative votes, the City Council hereby authorizes the open market purchase of a 2003 Johnson 3000 Three - Wheeled Mechanical Sweeper at a total cost of $ 50,912.50. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of June, 2003, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Matarrese, and Mayor Johnson - 5.
