Resolution 13631CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 13 6 3 1 ADOPTING THE CITY OF ALAMEDA MEASURE B PARATRANSIT SERVICE PLAN WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that equivalent paratransit service be provided within 3/4 mile and during the regular operating hours of fixed route transit services for those who are deter mined eligible for such services; and WHEREAS, there are parts of the City of Alameda that are not served by the ADA- mandated paratransit services for at least part of the week; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda receives an allocation from Measure B sales tax revenue, administered by the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority ( ACTIA), to provide paratransit services to supplement ADA- mandated services; and WHEREAS, to receive its annual allocation, the City must have a paratransit service plan approved by ACTIA; and WHEREAS, the City hired the consulting firm Nelson\Nygaard Associates to analyze various service options and develop the Measure B Paratransit Service Plan; and WHEREAS, the City conducted three public meetings and received input from the Transportation Commission, the Mayor's Committee on Disability Issues, and members of the public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda adopts the Measure B Paratransit Service Plan. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of September, 2003, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Gilmore, Kerr, Matarrese and Mayor Johnson - 5.
