Resolution 13648CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTIION NO.3 3 6 4 8 AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE MEASURE B BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN COUNTYWIDE DISCRETIONARY GRANT FUND TO PURCHASE OF RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR TRAIL CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, the City of Alameda supports the development of infrastructure to support non - motorized transportation and recreational opportunities in Alameda; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda supports the ongoing development of the Bay Trail to enhance public access to the shoreline of the San Francisco Bay; and WHEREAS, the Atlantic Avenue Bikeway is included as a high priority project in the Alameda Bicycle Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA) has allocated funding from the Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Countywide Discretionary Grant Fund for bicycle and pedestrian projects for the fiscal year 2003/04; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to apply to ACTIA for the funding of a project: $600,000 to purchase 6.35 acres of right -of -way along the south side of Ralph Appezzato Parkway (Atlantic Avenue) from Main Street to Webster Street for use as a linear park and multi -use path. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda authorizes the filing of an application with ACTIA for allocation of Measure B Discretionary funds for the project described above and authorizes the Public Works Director to execute any necessary documents. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of November, 2003, by the following vote to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTENTIONS: Councilmembers Daysog, Gilmore, Ken, and Mayor Johnson - 4.
