Resolution 13649CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 13 6 4 9 AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE MEASURE B BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN COUNTYWIDE DISCRETIONARY GRANT FUND FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE ALAMEDA PEDESTRIAN PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Alameda General Plan supports pedestrian- friendly development throughout the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda supports the enhancement of pedestrian safety near schools, commercial areas, and other significant generators of pedestrian activity; and WHEREAS, the City's Transportation Commission has endorsed the development of a citywide pedestrian plan; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority ( ACTIA) has allocated funding from the Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Countywide Discretionary Grant Fund for bicycle and pedestrian projects for the fiscal year 2003/04; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda wishes to apply to ACTIA for the funding of a project: $45,000 for a citywide pedestrian plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda authorizes the filing of an application with ACTIA for allocation of Bicycle and Pedestrian Countywide Discretionary Grant Funds for the project as described above, and authorizes the Public Works Director to execute any necessary documents. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of November, 2003, by the following vote to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTENTIONS: Council None.
