RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE JUNIOR CHAMBE,11 Cr
COMMERCE 0 OAKLAND ON ITS EFFORTS TC SECURE
Alf OFFTOTAL DRAG STRIP FOR THE EAST 'BAY. AREA
WHEREAS, the Councj l. of the City of Alameda has learned with interest
the efforts the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Oakland is making to devalop an
official drag strip for teen alters and young adults of the East Bay Area and
WHEREAS., the value of such recreation at supervised areas has received
national recognition as a deterring, factor to juvenile delinquency by law enforce-
ment agencies; and
WHEREAS, the East Bay Area lacks such a facility which precludes
supervised activities and often results in the misuse of public roads for
excessive speed purposes:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HESOLVED, that the Council of the City' of Alameda
commends the Oakland junior Chamber of Commerce on its efforts to provide such
a facility in the East Bay Area.
