OF NBTERNINING THE NEOR.SSITY OF AN ADEQUATE NATIONAL INTER-
STATE SYSTEM OF HIGHWAYS.
V:liEMEAS, the City of Alameda, belnF a munic ipality of the State of
California, and vit1_y nterested in and concerned with the general highway
needs of this nation; and
WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for federal legislation greatly
expanding the national highway system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda would specifically benefit from the
enactment of such legislation in the economic growth and development of the
,aid City of Alameda;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALMMEDA
that Honorable William F. 00011 and, United States Senator, California, Honorable
Thomgs H. Kuchel, United States Senator, California, Honorable George P. 'Miller,
Congressman, 8th District, California, and Honorable John J. Allen, Congressman,
7th Distriot, California, be, and they are hereby . urged and requested to actively
support 00.0 00 present suoh federal legislation as to provide an expanded and
adequate national interstate system of highways under present and anticipated
traffic conditions.
