RESOLUTION OF THE CITY. OF ALMJIDA APPROVING CERTAIN
ARRANGEMENTS Wifil ME COUNTY OF ALAMEDA IN COWECTION
WITH UN1F0R10 SALES AND USE TAXES.
Efl EPT(AE, recent legislation enables cities and counties to provide for
a. uniform sales and use tax whereby the Board cf Equalization of the State of
California is tne collecting. agency for said taxes; and
WHEREAS, under said system the County of Alameda and all cities in
said cunt; oust adopt a uniform sales and use tax in order to take advantage
of this arrangement; and
WHEREAS, it appears this arrangement will eliminate many ineorMties
in the present system on result in. more efficient administration and collection
of tax revenues; and.
WHEREAS, negotiations have been under way between the Board of Surer-
Vi 501-3 of Alameda County and the Mayors of all cities within said county con-
cerning the sharing by the county in. proceeds of city sales and use taxes;

that the City of Alameda hereby approves and recommend.s an arrangement with the
County cf Alameda whereby said county will receive 5% of the I% sales and use
tax revenue of the cities, provided, that said revenue shall he used to reduce .
the property tax in the County of Alameda,
DE 17 FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the
Board of 5upervisors of Alameda County and. all cities in said county.

duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda:
in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 24t13 day of April, 1956, by the
