IN MEMORIAM TO ERNEST H. ROGERS.
WITH 11FARTEELT GRIEF, the Council. of the City of Alameda recordh the death
of one of its former pgribyees, ERNEST H. ROGERS, retired, who haa served the City
faithfully and well as Building Inspector for almost twenty-nine years - during the
period from November 16, 1926, to May 7, 1055.
0. 1, Mr. Rogers, es an attive. committee member of the Building Offi-
cials' Conference for many yearn, pioneered the establishment of uniform building
standards, and. initiated the adoption of the fixot Uniform. Building Code in 1929 -
subsequent amended editions of which now guide builders in most cities; and
WHEREAS, his Po 'd' and experience in the construction field were in-
valuable to the City in its development through_ the years; and
WEERDXS, Mhw Rogers was highly respected for his sound advice in the Trade
and his integrity in the performance of his mnny duties and was greatly belpved by
all of his associate employees for his friendly and helpful nature.
